So Far So Good

I'm proud to say that at the end of week 2, I've lost 6 pounds. Not super crazy awesome, but a good start nonetheless! I'm so impatient for it to be a significant loss, and for it to show when looking at me, but that will come.
I'm proud of myself for being strong and following the eating plan, for not giving in to the occasional craving. The cravings have not been bad at all I have to say, just once this week when I made some cookies for the boys - but in my defense, that would tempt even the most disciplined of eaters!
Again, I find myself being almost cocky on my day off....thinking I could eat anything and really pig out, but I don't even want to, so there!
But I am still eating some sweets and pasta....and drinking more than 2 glasses of wine! Am still really psyched and convinced that this is it, this is the year where it's going to happen dammit!
Today,, I'm feeling the desire to work out...to move, to be active. So: my goal this week is to get in 2 workouts. Am not sure if they will be cardio or weights, but that's my goal. I figure I can easily do a workout while watching tv....and I'd like to try doing the abdominal work suggested in my book....it really does not look too complicated at all. I can do it! There....I've found my mantra for the week!
To sum it up...am feeling good and energized, my skin is awesome, and I want to move. Operation Get Off My Ass, here I come! I can do it!!

  1. Well done!! Keep it up, it does get easier to focus on the healthy and forgive yourself when you have a week moment. # 8 says screw the hormones and focus on what you put into your body, it sounds like you are already feeling the effects of that. Lache pas la patate!

  2. Hey! I had no idea you even knew about this blog! Thanks for the comment - and you're right...it is getting easier to focus on what I'm feeding myself. The weekly day off also serves a great purpose in reminding me how crappy it feels to ingest some crappy food, thus making it far easier to stick to the healthy stuff during the week. Amazing the difference it makes! Am just roaring to go and that does feel awesome! My surroundings feel it too!

  4. Aaaaah....YOU'RE the culprit! Now I see how he got onto this! Thanks sistah...the support is appreciated!
As for the discipline, it hasn't been too difficult and I think that's because of how good I feel when eating the right stuff, and because I CAN on my day off!!

  5. looks like you are making progress! so do keep it up! i have been doing a lower back and abs exercise that takes about 25 minutes and it does wonders to my lower back, where i feel most of my pain from sitting all day at work. but the nice thing is that it does not feel so much as a work out cause he gets you to focus on your breathing and when its done i actually feel relaxed and the days stress is gone. Its done by GAIAM and the yoga master doing it is Rodney Yee. I'll see if i can find it on the net for you to try, all you need is a dvd player a tv and a yoga mat, or a nice plush rug! just be carefull for them nasty carpet burns! ;-))

    keep it up sis!

  6. 6 pounds in 2 weeks???? That is awesome! So happy to hear that you are enjoying this process - because that is what counts and what will ensure you continue. It's easy to fall into bad habits, but it's just as easy to fall into good ones, and it sounds like you are discovering that. So proud of you for taking this on and for having such a great attitude about it. Can't wait to read more fab-ab-u-lous posts about incredible results. Love ya. XXX
